Tybee Post Theater Concerts
Nestled in the heart of Tybee Island, the historic Tybee Post Theater was originally built in 1930 as a movie house for soldiers stationed at the nearby Army base in what is now the Fort Screven Historic District. After closing its doors in the mid-1960s, the theater was beautifully restored and reopened in September 2015—bringing live entertainment and film back to the island after a 50-year intermission.
Today, both locals and visitors cherish the Tybee Post Theater for its nostalgic charm and intimate setting. The venue offers a diverse lineup of entertainment, including first-run and classic films, children’s movies, live music, comedy shows, theatrical productions, dance performances, lectures, and much more. It’s a cultural gem where history meets the arts, right by the beach.
