Where Is the Festival Held?
Festivities and events take place all over Tybee Island. There’s a kickoff ball at a local restaurant, a pub crawl that takes participants to some of the best bars on Tybee Island, and more. However, the main festivities take place at the Tybee Pirate Festival grounds, which are found at the south end near the pier and Tybrisa Street, which is less than two miles from our resort.
Things to Do During the Tybee Island Event
This is truly a family-friendly event, and the schedule is filled with things to do for all ages. Take part in an adult costume contest, or listen to live music. Kids will love Little Matey’s Cove, a kids’ area complete with a magic show, face painting, and petting zoo. There’s also a mermaid water show on Friday and Saturday.
Tips to Make Your Experience the Best It Can Be
- October in Tybee Island means warm days and cool evenings, so be sure to dress in layers if you plan on spending all day at the festival.
- The parade on Saturday is one of the most anticipated events of the festival, so be sure to get to the route early to find a good viewing spot.
- Some vendors only take cash, so be sure to bring some with you.
